Frequently Asked Questions

Career coaching covers a comprehensive set of services.  When it comes to job searching,  I work with clients to identify their personal brand.  We then work together to align that brand with their career goals, weaving their personal brand in every way possible to ensure that they are presenting their best self on paper, online, and in person to potential employers.   These services not only are successful in helping clients find and obtain their dream job but also at an optimal salary and at an accelerated rate!  I also often work with clients that are interested in a career transition – whether that’s going into a new industry or a completely new line of work.   Together we  facilitate their path to success in reaching these goals.

I also provide career coaching services to clients that go beyond the job search.  For example, I have many clients that are happy with their career but just need a little boost.  In these cases, career coaching provides them the opportunity to further succeed at their current position.  Whether it’s performance, leadership or job advancement coaching, all are service options available to my clients.

As a coach, I partner with clients to get the results they want in way that pulls (rather than pushes) them towards that success.  Whether that’s a different job, performance enrichment, leadership development, new strategies for managing stress, or extra support during a life transition, I am here to facilitate their path towards their goal.  I also help clients who are experiencing much success in their personal life and career, but feel like there is something more out there for them.

Our careers/work lives are important, they give us a sense of identity, of purpose and keep us motivated. They also provide us with psychological, material, and social rewards.

My deepest, most firmly held conviction is that we need to manage our careers/work lives and talents proactively; just as carefully as we manage our health, savings, and relationships. And it needs to be done most objectively and deliberately.

It’s a highly competitive market out there – the more you can stand-out in the market amongst your competitors the better. And a coach is one of the best ways to do that. As a coach, I know the market, along with the strategies from beginning to end of your job search, which will help improve your outcomes at every stage of the job search process. In addition, I can help accelerate the job search process, helping you land the job at an accelerated rate and oftentimes at a negotiated higher rate of pay!

I think the hardest thing that I face is the job market itself. There are times when it is flooded with candidates and it can get highly competitive. It’s times like this, though, that people need a career coach the most. Any competitive advantage you can get in a market like that is ideal.

What I love is that when people do exactly that – hire a career coach.  When people do that, they are making a personal life-long investment that will pay off not only for the job they are currently seeking but for their entire career journey. Once people get to this point, we can start making the magic happen!

Note: While some shy away from coaches because they are tight on money, perhaps a dislocated worker, I have created a program that addresses this issue.  Everyone should have a career coach to not only level the playing field, but elevate it.  I have created custom coaching packages for clients so they can get coaching now and pay once they land that dream job!

I absolutely love helping people progress in their career journey. And.. I have quickly found out that I am really talented in this area. In short, I found my dream job which is helping people find their dream jobs! Whether it’s discovering what a client’s career journey looks like, helping them progress in their current career, or working with them on transitioning into a whole new career, it’s all such a pleasure to help
people work on these goals and do so in a way that seamlessly accelerates their progress.

I always make sure to spend some time with new clients, at no cost, to get to know them and their career goals. It’s also an opportunity to show them how I can help them boost their career journey. It’s one thing to say I can help, but another to prove that I can help. And I’ve found that to be relatively easy. My coaching expertise has enabled me to prepare clients who come to me at various points in their life and help them progress from where they are. So, this introductory time is time well spent for both me and the potential client. By the end of these contacts clients know I can help them and the question then becomes how soon! And that is NOW!

I want to also add that a successful career coach is one that bring out the best in their clients. In the case of career coaching, I help clients present themselves in the optimal way on paper, online, and
in person. Everyone has talents but many are afraid to truly talk about them in a successful, stand-out manner. In some cases, it’s also a matter of talking to people and helping them realize they are talented beyond their conscious awareness! In short, I help people sell themselves to potential employers, facilitating their ability to achieve their goals in a way that is also comfortable for them.

Being a career coach doesn’t mean you have all the answers – it does mean though that I am highly skilled in bringing out the answers in you! A great coach will work strategically with you to help you discover how to best identify the direction that you ideally want to move towards.  They will  explore the viability of options with you and then help you  pursue that career path with vigor!

I wouldn’t say that I push people outside their comfort zones but I help them get to the point that they want to go outside their comfort zones, that they feel pulled toward going in that direction. I work with them to see the benefits of stretching themselves further than they have before, realizing their great potential, and acting on it.  Being pulled, rather than pushed, toward a new area is a much better feeling and can be highly exhilarating and rewarding for a client.

I have a wide variety of coaching plan options available to clients. I am highly
flexible and offer clients that opportunity to pay transactionally, for discounted
packages of services, and even have a plan in which they can pay after they land
their dream job.

This customized approach allows me to meet clients where they are at and makes
obtaining the edge that a coach gives a client in the job market available to
everyone! A job or career move is one of the most important decisions in a person’s
life – investing in a coach now is a personal investment that can pay off for a lifetime!
